Wow - this place is gross! Who knew a diner could screw up breakfast?? The oatmeal was like glue, the pancakes like cardboard and I'm pretty sure they used Velveeta cheese in the omelet - which I asked for light cheese, and when I got it and planned to scrape some off, but much to my horror (and delight!) it lifted off in a single globular. When I thanked my boyfriend for footing the bill he thought I was being insincere. I clarified by saying, "I meant thanks for not making me have to pay for that crap!"

Horrible food, drive right past it and don't look back. Had a gyro that has two slices of meat, a slither of white sauce, un-toasted pita bread and red onion, bland as could be. Girlfriend had a buffalo chicken wrap that gave her a stomach ache a half hour later. Fries had a weird texture. Just completely bare bones. The salad was a boring iceberg lettuce with bad tomatoes. Obviously they buy the cheapest generic frozen food they can purchase and then serve it up. If you go here more than once, there is something wrong with you.

Stopped here on a business trip into PA. It was sometime in the 9pm hr, and there were not a lot of customers at the resaurant. The waitress was horrible. It took forever to bring us our food, she forgot parts of my husbands order. When we went to pay, they gave us this tiny little slip of paper, about the length and width of my pinky as a receipt. My husband asked for a larger receipt because he needed to submit it to his job for his expense report, and what company in their right mind would accept the type of receipt this place gives? They refused to give any kind of larger receipt, claiming that was all they had. I like going into PA to go to New Hope and Peddler's Village and we will never stop there to eat ever again.

Great Diner a couple miles outside of New Hope. Good food for a good price. Was very impressed with the staff and this location is now open 24 hours a day.

Food is ok but place is FREEZING COLD! We've been there a couple of times and each time, the place was like the arctic! When I asked the female waitress to turn down the air conditioning (cool fall weather outside), she said that "you are the only one complaining"! I pointed out that all of the patrons eating had their jackets on! How insulting. I did mention to the manager that the place is always too cold and he adjusted the thermostat as we were leaving. The wait staff runs around, so they heat up, then turn the air on cold, but they forget that people are eating there sedentary and don't want to be frozen out. Selfish snobbery staff. UPDATE: Place is still cold. Lots of flies in restaurant. Reported them to health department because there are continually flies in there (and fruit flies). Salad bar appears unmaintained most of time. Wait staff seems friendlier, that's about it.

Terrible. With so many OTHER places to eat in the area I questioned why I stopped at this place. Firstly the place was not crowded but i had to wait 20 mins for an omelet as did my wife with her pancakes. The dinner was empty on a monday morning around 10am. We just wanted a quick breakfast, we ordered and we sat there and waited. The food itself was ok (2 stars) but nothing special. The service was the dud at this place. Keep driving up or down 202 and stop elsewhere if you're looking for a breakfast or lunch quickly.

As I write this, my stomach is still upset from 3 hours ago when I ate the worst beef stew I've ever. It was a bowl of grease and fatty beef. Very disappointing meal. The only reason I didn't give 1 star is the service was decent.

Penna and NJ are known for their diners and this is one of them. A great late night stop after all the partying in New Hope!

horrible service experience...went on a Friday night with my 3 yr old son. It was not busy at all (now I understand why). It took 5 minutes to order drinks and it was taken by the hostess. A server/s walked by several times, never said anything. waited 5 more minutes before we left. I would not recommend this place. By the way, this wasn't the first time I've experienced bad service there.

The morning after a rocking wedding, and we need to get on the road and back to Boston. We had seen Eagle Diner on the way to the hotel and thought, that might be a good place to soak up all the wedding alcohol. The food was good - what you would expect from a diner. I worried that we would need to wait for a table, but the place is huge and we were seated right away. Coffee was typical diner coffee that kept being refilled, the oj came in tiny glasses that reminded me of my college cafeteria. The man got the scrapple with eggs and very much enjoyed it. I got an omelet, but either the waitress forgot to put in my order correctly or the kitchen just plain forgot, because it came without the cheese. (I mean... who orders an omelet without cheese? Sacrilege!) It took several minutes to flag down someone to correct the order, and they somehow just opened it up and threw a few pieces of American in there, cooked it just long enough to be slightly warm and melty and gave it back. It was fine, but they didn't win any points either. Potatoes were good and the rye toast was well-buttered. I noticed that the table next to us had something forgotten in their order as well, and had to physically get up and find someone to let the waitstaff know. I'm hoping it was just an off day for our waitress.

Why did we come here again...I have no idea. But unfortunately, we stopped in early this past Sunday for a quick breakfast...which we (again) sadly regret. The place was pretty dead and it took ten minutes for someone to even come over to us to ask what we would like to drink (which ended up being the hostess who was young, very sweet and looked very stressed out). Food was decent (we both had the french toast with sausage & bacon), decent coffee, but overall the service stunk and we waited forever. We will not come back to this diner.

Disappointment. Stopped in on a Saturday night. Overflowing trash cans in the bathrooms and by the cashier. Bathroom floors were filled with dirt and there was toilet paper all over the floor. Salad bar was an epic fail. No green iceberg lettuce in two bins. No romaine. All the vegetables were sub par. Pot roast came with potatoes in hash browns, which were cooked in such old oil, they were dark brown. (not from overcooking) There was a french fry on the windowsill. Ketchup was more brown than red. No one finished their meal. 0 out 4 for our entire party. While I understand what comes with the diner category, I enjoy a good diner. I have been to many, and this was the most disappointing.

I was not expecting the delicious food I received when stopping in for breakfast on my way thru the area. Pancakes best I have ever had - sooo good - grits and sausage delicious too!

I live close and know many New Hope restaurants but frankly this diner beats most of them! Especially that it is open 24/7. They have special appearances for kids (used to be Saturday at 10 am, ) but we, adults, enjoy it too. Well worth the short drive from New Hope!

For a diner, Eagle Diner has really improved in recent months. Granted I wouldn't eat anything other than breakfast at any diner, but the service is always fast and they do a consistently good job.

This place is awful. If it weren't for convenience, this place would be out-of-business. Yes, New Hope is an expensive place to eat, but there are some budget-friendly gems in town. This is not one of them. You will find pre-cooked microwave-prepared meals here. You will also pay a premium price for very bland food. There is a pizza place next door which is much better. Although Eagle's breakfast has gotten small over the years, it is difficult to mess up pancakes and omelettes, so this is the only thing I would recommend getting. Their cakes and pies aren't terrible, and I hear their milkshakes are ok. The salad-bar isn't very good, although the soups are okay (I still question the cleaniness). A few years ago they reduced the cup size for sodas and juices. Recently, they started charging for refills. This is pretty much all you need to know about this place.

Go to new hope for my surgeon to check in on my progress and me and my girl usually stop at one of the local restaurants to eat along the water. We both were craving diner food so we popped in to the eagle diner to try it. As soon as we sat down three waitstaff at the table behind us moaned "Why do people keep coming in here???" As if our presence was such a burden because theyd have to stand up to wait on us. The food was hardly edible. But the worst part about the ENTIRE experience was that throughout our entire meal the brunette hostess was slumped over in the booth behind us texting and complaining the WHOLE time about how sick and exhausted she felt. Can I tell you how much that wet our appetites? It was so irritating and just not what you want to hear while you're eating. And SO unprofessional. I almost stood up and asked the waitstaff behind us if they minded serving us or if they'd rather we left so they could continue to remain sitting. Anyway, never again. I won't be back.
